Falconets defeat Ghana in final game of WAFU B U-20 Girls’ Cup

Nigeria’s Falconets wrapped up their 2025 WAFU B U-20 Girls’ Cup campaign in commanding fashion, thrashing rivals Ghana’s Black Princesses 3-0 on Tuesday in Benin.

The Nigerian side came out blazing, scoring twice within the opening 40 minutes to stamp their authority on the West African showdown.

Despite Ghana’s early pressure, including close efforts from Mary Amponsah and Linda Owusu Ansah, the Falconets’ defence stood firm, with their goalkeeper pulling off key saves to deny the Princesses.

After the break, Ghana tried to claw their way back, but Nigeria’s superior pace and precision told the story.

A late third goal sealed the win, capping off a dominant performance that saw the Falconets complete a double victory over Ghana in the tournament.

The result confirmed Nigeria’s status as the queens of West African youth football — ruthless, disciplined, and unstoppable.
