Nigeria’s Super Falcons will learn their group-stage opponents for the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) during the official draw scheduled for Friday, November 22.
The event, set to begin at 8 p.m. local time (7 p.m. GMT), will be broadcast live on major TV networks across Africa and internationally. Fans can also follow the proceedings via CAF’s digital platform, CAF TV.
The draw will determine the group-stage matchups for the 12 teams competing in the tournament. These include hosts Morocco, defending champions South Africa, Nigeria, and nine other top African nations.
The 13th edition of WAFCON will take place in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025, promising an exciting showcase of African women’s football talent.
CAF has announced that additional details regarding the draw procedure will be released shortly.
The 12 qualified teams are Morocco (hosts), South Africa (defending champions), Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Algeria, Tunisia, DR Congo, Senegal, Mali, Botswana, and Tanzania.
The Super Falcons will aim to improve on their disappointing performance at the 2022 WAFCON, where they finished fourth after losing to hosts Morocco in the semi-final and to Zambia in the third-place match.
