Faleke denies report on alleged one-term agreement in Kogi

A member of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon James Abiodun Faleke, has dismissed as false a media report claiming that the Presidency directed former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, and the incumbent Governor, Usman Ododo, to honour an alleged one-term agreement in the state.
Faleke, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency and chairs the House Committee on Finance, was reacting to a report published by an online platform, TrackNews. The report alleged that he was involved in discussions surrounding a purported one-term arrangement in Kogi State.
In a rebuttal issued on Wednesday, Faleke said he had no knowledge of, nor involvement in, any discussion, arrangement or agreement relating to a one-term deal in Kogi State. He stressed that he was never a party—directly or indirectly—to such an agreement.
The lawmaker described the report as entirely false, misleading and lacking any factual basis. According to him, the publication triggered numerous calls and messages seeking clarification, prompting the need to publicly address the allegation.
Faleke urged the public to disregard the report in its entirety, maintaining that the story was a fabrication with no foundation in fact.
He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and accuracy in public discourse, warning against the spread of unverified claims that could mislead the public.
