Family of slain Ondo man stabbed by girlfriend demands justice
Boye Oyeyemi –
The family of 19-year-old Michael Ikuedowoni, who was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend in Okitipupa, Ondo State, is demanding justice and calling on the government to ensure the suspect is held accountable.
WESTERN POST had reported that Michael was stabbed by his 18-year-old girlfriend, Augustina Mowari, during a confrontation over alleged infidelity.
A young girl who identified herself as Regina Ikuedowoni, a student of a public university in Ondo State and a relative of the deceased, demanded justice.
“That was the fourth time she stabbed my brother over similar allegations. She had stabbed him several times before, and he was always rushed to the hospital and later discharged by the doctors.”
According to her, despite previous efforts to end the troubled relationship, Michael remained with the suspect until the final incident.
“We had warned my brother severally to stay away from this young and hot-tempered girlfriend who had stabbed him repeatedly, but he refused. Now she has killed him.
“We appeal to the Ondo State Government, the good people of the state, and public-spirited individuals to help us seek justice for the death of our breadwinner. Since his death, we have heard nothing from the police.”
Meanwhile, residents and local leaders, including the Chairman of the Ehinmosan Street Landlords’ Association, Adeniyi Akingboye, have urged the police to speed up their investigation and ensure justice is served.
