Fasoranti lauds Aiyedatiwa’s leadership as Ondo AG Ajulo pays courtesy visit

Elder statesman and Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, has commended Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for piloting the affairs of the state on the path of peace and stability.

Fasoranti, who described the governor as “on the right track,” praised him for sustaining harmony across the state despite prevailing national challenges.

The commendation came during a courtesy visit to the nonagenarian at his Akure residence by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN, OON. The visit formed part of Ajulo’s tradition of regularly checking on the elder statesman, whom he reveres as a father figure.

Their meeting featured wide-ranging discussions on the state of affairs in Ondo and the country at large. Fasoranti, renowned for his long-standing advocacy for good governance, spoke extensively on justice, leadership, and the role of government in promoting peace and progress. The two also shared personal reflections on their involvement in church activities as members of the Anglican Communion.

Moved by Fasoranti’s vitality, Ajulo expressed admiration for the 99-year-old leader’s active engagement in public discourse. “I am truly surprised and inspired that even at 99, Baba remains so deeply involved in the affairs of Ondo State with the sharpness of a young man. At an age when many would have retired fully from public concerns, Baba continues to speak passionately, asking probing questions on governance, justice, and the welfare of our people,” Ajulo said.

The Attorney General also expressed gratitude to Fasoranti for his unwavering patriotism and guidance, while acknowledging his contribution to the state through his son, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, who currently serves as Secretary to the State Government. He further sought the elder’s prayers for peace, fulfilment, and stability in Ondo.

The visit, witnessed by members of Fasoranti’s household including the SSG, underscored the value of intergenerational dialogue. Ajulo stressed the importance of drawing from the wisdom of leaders like Fasoranti, noting that his legacy of integrity and service remains a source of inspiration to present and future generations.
