By Innocent Raphael
In a powerful message delivered during the Father’s Day celebration at NextGen Youth Church, Lead Pastor Femi Babalola called on young people to cultivate discipline, diligence, and decisiveness.
His sermon, themed “Taking Responsibility,” emphasized the importance of these three virtues in personal and spiritual growth.
Pastor Babalola outlined the components of responsibility, stressing that diligence involves concentrating attentively and remaining faithful to one’s goals despite any distractions.
He stated, “Diligence is the discipline of concentrating attentively and being consistently faithful. It is looking at your goal no matter the situation and not being distracted.”
Drawing on the biblical story of the prodigal son from Luke 15:18, he encouraged youths to be decisive and make crucial choices about their lives.
“Decisiveness is the discipline of making important and crucial choices,” he explained.
Pastor Babalola further warned against moral, financial, and spiritual indiscipline, highlighting that such behaviors could hinder the blessings destined for them.
He remarked, “Discipline is understanding the implications of your actions and avoiding the consequences. It helps you weigh the repercussions of your actions.”
Throughout his address, Pastor Babalola shared real-life experiences to inspire the congregation, underscoring the practical application of his message.
