Fayemi betrayed those who made him governor, Wike’s aide, Olayinka alleges

By Boye Oyeyemi –
Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Lere Olayinka, has accused former Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, of betraying those who helped him rise to power.
In a strongly worded post on Facebook and seen by WESTERN POST, Olayinka said Fayemi “didn’t become the Governor of Ekiti by his own strength and efforts” but turned against those who supported him to office twice.
“Obviously too, a Fayemi, who didn’t become the Governor of Ekiti by his own strength and efforts, and serially betrayed and ridiculed those who made him governor twice, will be envious of the kind of overwhelming political support Governor Oyebanji is enjoying presently,” Olayinka wrote.
He contrasted Fayemi’s style with that of incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji, whom he described as “a thoroughbred Omoluabi” who has not persecuted critics and has united stakeholders in the state.
According to him, Oyebanji’s performance and inclusive leadership have earned him a second term, stressing that any attempt by Fayemi to reposition himself as a supporter of the governor amounts to “damage control.”
Olayinka further alleged that Fayemi was attempting to use former Governor Ayodele Fayose to regain political favour, but insisted that genuine loyalists of Oyebanji know who truly stands with the governor.
He concluded by reaffirming his personal commitment to Oyebanji’s re-election bid, saying the governor’s approach to governance has distinguished him from his predecessors.
