Fayemi denies founding ADC coalition, reaffirms loyalty to APC

The media office of former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has dismissed claims that he co-founded the new African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition alongside former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

In a statement signed on Sunday by Mallam Ahmad Sajoh, Head of Fayemi’s Media Office, the camp described the allegation, widely circulated on social media, as baseless and unsupported by credible evidence.

According to Sajoh, no reputable media report or verified video shows Amaechi making such a statement. He suggested that the remarks may have been fabricated or distorted, warning against falling for manufactured controversies aimed at causing political mischief.

“Dr. Fayemi remains a committed member and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State,” the statement read. “He has consistently affirmed his dedication to the APC and is working to address its challenges and promote its progressive ideals.”

The former governor has also publicly endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for re-election under the APC platform, underscoring his loyalty to the party.

While noting that Fayemi engages in conversations with associates across political, ethnic, and religious lines on national development, the media office stressed that such interactions do not signal defection from the APC.

The statement added that Fayemi’s lower public visibility at the national level is due to his role as a visiting professor at King’s College London and his work at the Amandla Institute, but that he remains active in Ekiti politics.

The public was urged to treat any news concerning Fayemi with caution, especially if it originates solely from social media.
