Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has paid a courtesy visit to the newly installed Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, describing him as a leader who embodies the finest virtues of the historic city.
Fayemi, who shared details of the visit on Friday, said he was abroad during the monarch’s coronation and decided to personally pay his respects upon his return.
“It was an immense pleasure to visit the new Olubadan of Ibadan, His Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, today to pay my respects, having been abroad during his coronation,” he stated.
Reflecting on his deep ties to the city, Fayemi noted that being born and raised in Ibadan had given him firsthand understanding of its rich heritage and resilient spirit.
“Having been born in Ibadan sixty years ago and still resident in the historic city, I am confident Oba Ladoja exemplifies all that recommends Ibadan to the world. He is principled, fair-minded, firm in character, humble, entrepreneurial, professional, and people-oriented,” he said.
The former governor expressed optimism that Oba Ladoja’s reign would usher in a progressive and transformational era for Ibadan and its people.
