FCT Police arrests mastermind in kidnap, killing of Ned Nwoko’s legal aide

The operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have arrested the “second most wanted kidnap kingpin,” on its list, Samaila Wakil Fafa, also known as Habu Ibrahim.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police Josephine Adeh, the suspect had evaded arrest and had been on the wanted list of the police “for a long time.”

The FCT Minister had also reportedly placed a bounty on Samaila Wakil’s head to speed up his arrest. As fate would have it, luck ran out on him as the police arrested him in Nasarawa State recently.

Part of the statement reads: “On 24 February 2024, at about 7:05 PM,  acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the FCT Police Command, stormed Sardauna Forest, Toto, Nasarawa State and arrested one Samaila Wakili Fafa A.K.A Habu Ibrahim, a kidnap kingpin who has been on the wanted list of the Command for a long time and bounty placed on his head by the Hon. Minister FCT.

“The suspect is one of the two kidnappers the Honorable Minister FCT placed a bounty on, as the other one, Saidu Abdulkadir A.K.A Dahiru Adamu, had earlier been arrested by the Command.”

According to the police, the suspect has confessed that he and his syndicate carried out several kidnappings in the FCT and its environs, including the abduction of Barrister Chris Agidy, the legal aide to Senator. Ned Nwoko.

He also admitted that his group also kidnapped the District head of Ketti Village, Mr Sunday Yahaya Zakwai. The group killed the two men. 

The statement added that “Samaila Wakili has led police operatives to where the remains of Barrister Chris Agidy is. The remains were recovered and deposited at Gwagwalada General Hospital.”
