Manchester United clinched their first victory of the season on Saturday after Bruno Fernandes converted a stoppage-time penalty to seal a 3-2 win over Burnley.

United took the lead in the 27th minute when Josh Cullen diverted the ball into his own net, but Burnley hit back after the restart, with Lyle Foster drawing them level in the 55th minute.

Barely two minutes later, United restored their advantage through Bryan Mbeumo, sending them into halftime with a 2-1 lead.

Burnley refused to back down and equalised in the 66th minute through Jaidon Anthony, setting up a tense finale at Old Trafford.

Just when the match looked destined for a draw, United were awarded a late penalty, which Fernandes calmly converted to hand Ruben Amorim’s men a much-needed win.

Elsewhere, Chelsea eased past Fulham 2-0 thanks to goals from Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez.

Sunderland edged Brentford 2-1, while Everton triumphed 3-2 away at Wolverhampton. Tottenham, however, suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at home to AFC Bournemouth.
