Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq assured Nigerians on Friday that President Bola Tinubu and leaders across the country are keenly aware of the public’s concerns regarding the state of the economy and are taking decisive actions to address them.
Speaking to reporters after observing the Jum’ah prayer at the Alihamdulillaah Mosque GRA in Ilorin, the state capital, Abdulrazaq emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the economic situation and urged citizens to remain patient.
“We have heard you, and significant efforts are underway to strengthen the economy and ensure the welfare of the people. I urge all of you to please be patient with the President,” the Governor stated.
Abdulrazaq highlighted that President Tinubu is actively working on various interventions to alleviate the burdens faced by Nigerians. He expressed gratitude to the people of Kwara State for maintaining peace and going about their businesses calmly, assuring them that their welfare remains a top priority for his administration.
“The government appreciates the stance of the people of Kwara State on these issues. We have listened and heard you clearly. The President is implementing multiple interventions and palliatives to ease the burden,” he said. “I appeal for patience as we give the President more time to address these challenges. I am glad that the people of Kwara State have shown understanding and patience.”
Governor Abdulrazaq also mentioned ongoing initiatives such as the student loan program and the Credicorp facility, aimed at providing relief and support to citizens. He acknowledged the public’s frustrations but reiterated the administration’s dedication to responding effectively to their concerns.
“We understand your anger and concerns, but it is important to recognize that this is a listening government. We have heard you, and the right actions will be taken,” he assured.
Earlier, Abdulrazaq had commended Kwarans for remaining peaceful and shunning the temptation to revert to past unrest, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to their well-being.
