FG launches online platform to streamline citizenship, business services

The Federal Ministry of Interior has unveiled a new digital platform aimed at simplifying the application and processing of citizenship and business-related services in Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, said the initiative is part of a broader effort to reform service delivery, enhance transparency, and improve operational efficiency within the ministry.

The platform, now live, is expected to significantly reduce processing times and provide a more user-friendly experience for individuals and corporate entities seeking services under the ministry’s purview.

“This marks a major step in our digital transformation agenda,” Ajani said. “With the launch of this platform, we aim to ensure faster turnaround times, better service quality, and a more transparent system for all stakeholders.”

According to the statement, members of the public can access the platform via the Ministry of Interior’s official website at interior.gov.ng or directly through candb.interior.gov.ng. For support or inquiries, users can contact the ministry via email at [email protected].

The ministry emphasized that the digital shift aligns with its commitment to establishing a more secure and efficient framework for citizenship administration in Nigeria.

This development follows several other reform initiatives. In February, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced the introduction of digital landing and exit cards for incoming and outgoing travelers as part of efforts to harmonize immigration processes.

The minister said the federal government is working to integrate immigration data systems and ensure real-time checks with Interpol and other security agencies to enhance national security and streamline migration management.
