First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reiterated the federal government’s commitment to implementing policies and programs aimed at enhancing the lives of all Nigerians.

She made this known during the distribution of essential food items to vulnerable groups in Edo State under the Food Outreach Program of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

The event, held in Benin City, saw the First Lady represented by Hajia Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President and National Vice Chairman of RHI.

Speaking at the occasion, Senator Tinubu expressed gratitude to donors, including an anonymous public-spirited company and the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa), for their monthly contributions to RHI, which enable food distribution to Nigerians in need.

“I am pleased to share that since its inception in 2023, the Renewed Hope Initiative has made significant progress in supporting women and youth to build better lives for their families,” the First Lady noted.

She further assured that RHI would intensify its efforts in 2025 across its five focus areas: Agriculture, Education, Economic Empowerment, Health, and Social Investment.

Highlighting the initiative’s impact, Senator Tinubu appealed to beneficiaries not to sell the food items, emphasizing that they are meant to support their families.

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, expressed appreciation to the First Lady for her dedication to supporting vulnerable groups, commending RHI’s role in addressing critical societal needs.

The state’s RHI Coordinator, Mrs. Edesili Anani, also assured that the distributed items would reach the intended beneficiaries.

The Food Outreach Program, launched in March 2024 in Abuja, continues to expand its reach, targeting vulnerable groups and persons with disabilities.

In December, elderly citizens in Edo State benefited from RHI’s Elderly Citizens Support Program, which provided N250,000 each, food items, and free health checks.
