FG shuts down Federal Government colleges in Abuja over insecurity

The Ministry of Education has shut down all Federal Government colleges in the Federal Capital Territory over security concerns.

The ministry also ordered that all students be evacuated with immediate effect.

The PUNNCH reported that the schools were directed to vacate latest Wednesday June 27, with the schools sending messages to parents on Sunday asking them not to fail to come pick their children on Monday, unfailingly, due to rising fear and anxiety emanating from reported threats.

The report further said parents rushed to Federal Government College, Kwali to pick their children after it trended on the social media that there were heavy shooting in the school.

Some members of staff at the Federal Government Girls’ College, Bwari, also confided in The PUNCH that they received a directive from the Federal Ministry of Education to allow students vacate the school before Wednesday.
