FG to launch nationwide value re-orientation programmes in 2025

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has unveiled plans to initiate a nationwide value re-orientation campaign aimed at fostering patriotism, ethical principles, and shared national values in 2025.
In his New Year message to Nigerians, the President announced the forthcoming launch of the National Values Charter, which has already received approval from the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
The initiative is part of the broader National Identity Project designed to strengthen the bond between citizens and leaders by promoting shared aspirations and national goals.
The National Identity Project, spearheaded by the National Orientation Agency (NOA), comprises seven institutionalisation policies that aim to instill patriotism and promote ethical conduct among citizens. The policies will also provide meaningful connections to the nation’s symbols and ideals.
“Citizens’ moral rectitude and faith in our country are fundamental to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” President Tinubu said.
“In 2025, we will commit to promoting adherence to ethical principles, shared values, and beliefs under the National Identity Project.”
The President announced that the National Values Charter would be unveiled in the first quarter of 2025. As part of the campaign, he pledged to launch an ambitious national orientation programme to inspire patriotism and unity among Nigerians.
The initiative will seek to strengthen trust and cooperation between the government and citizens, as well as foster mutual commitments for national progress.
“Government reforms can only achieve the desired outcomes through shared values, a common identity, and unconditional love for our country,” Tinubu added.
In a bid to further engage the youth, the President revealed plans to convene a national youth conference within the next three months. He directed relevant government agencies to expedite preparations for the event.
