The federal government said it will partner with the French government on e-sport facilities especially, sports development at the grassroots.

This was revealed by the Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh on Thursday in his office in Abuja, when he received on courtesy call from a delegation from the French Embassy and “Dream Team Africa.

The Minister pointed out that the e-sport facility fits conveniently into the Federal Government’s agenda of bringing suitable innovations to move the sector forward.

Enoh hinted that the facility will provide a veritable platform for youth engagement not only for mobilization, but also as a way of engaging the youths in a way that is economically more rewarding as it provides job opportunities to our teeming unemployed youth.

The Minister revealed that as a sector being repositioned to be contributing to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), such partnership is what is really needed to actualize that dream.

He urged the French Government to consider extending the areas of collaboration to include the provision and development of sports infrastructure as a necessary pillar to hinge all the sports development efforts being implemented.
