The seven-time African champions, who secured their fifth consecutive Afrobasket title, have jumped to 8th position in the latest FIBA Women’s World Rankings.

This achievement cements their status as the best team on the African continent.

In the world rankings, Great Britain dropped two places to 22nd, while Belgium moved into the top five following their EuroBasket Women victory.

South Sudan emerged as the biggest climber, jumping 31 places to 55th, while the USA, as expected, continues to lead the rankings.
