FIFA announces date for 2027 Women’s World Cup

The 2027 Women’s World Cup, which will be staged in Brazil, will hold between June 22 and July 27, 2027, FIFA has announced
The world’s football governing body through its president Gianni Infantino announced the date during the virtual meeting on Wednesday morning.
“The FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 is already taking shape and we can’t wait for the opening match on Thursday, 24 June 2027 and all matches that lead to the final on Sunday, 25 July 2027,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
“This historic tournament will have a massive impact not only in South America, but around the whole world, taking the women’s game to the next level in terms of participation and popularity.”
Nigeria will hope to continue to make it to the competition, to maintain the tradition of featuring in the women mundial.
Nigeria remains one of the few countries who has played in every edition since inception in 1991.
