Filmmaker Emeka Mbadiwe denies arrest in drug trafficking case

Filmmaker Emeka Mbadiwe has reacted to widespread reports of his purported arrest by the NDLEA.

Mbadiwe took to his Instagram handle to debunk the rumors and dissociate himself from the reports.

In a short video, the U.S.-trained filmmaker explained that it was a case of mistaken identity, as he shares the same name as the arrested drug trafficker, but is not the person involved.

“Obviously, we share the same name, but I am not the person who was arrested for drug trafficking. My photos have been used, but it’s not me,” he said.

“I would appreciate it if my picture is not used with such reports or publications.”

This comes after a statement from the NDLEA, in which they paraded a suspected drug trafficker and identified him as Emeka Mbadiwe, a U.S.-trained filmmaker.
