The National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has arrived in Ibadan to evaluate Oyo State’s readiness for the party’s much-anticipated 2025 Elective National Convention.

The delegation, led by NCOC Chairman and Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, commenced an on-site assessment of key facilities and arrangements in preparation for the convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan on November 15 and 16, 2025.

During the visit, the team inspected logistics, infrastructure, security, and welfare provisions put in place by the host government. The inspection followed a series of coordination meetings involving various subcommittees and the host governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, who has spearheaded local preparations.

Governor Makinde has reportedly supervised notable infrastructure improvements across Ibadan, including the expansion of the Ibadan Airport runway, rehabilitation of access roads, and the deployment of enhanced security measures — all part of efforts to ensure a smooth and successful convention.

Governor Fintiri described the visit as part of the PDP’s commitment to ensuring a seamless and credible process that would elect new national officers and strengthen the party’s democratic structure.

Other members of the NCOC delegation include Deputy Chairman Tanimu Turaki (SAN), Secretary Senator Ben Obi, and several senior party stakeholders. The team is expected to tour critical facilities, including the convention venue, the Ibadan Airport, and designated accommodation centers.
