First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu on Wednesday lauded Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his achievements, describing him as an exceptional leader dedicated to his people.
Accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima, and several first ladies, Tinubu flagged off the distribution of 10,000 professional kits to midwives in the North Central region. She also inaugurated key infrastructure projects, including the General Tunde Idiagbon Flyover in Ilorin, which the late general’s widow, Cecilia Idiagbon, described as a historic honor.

At the Innovation Hub, a tech-driven facility modeled after Silicon Valley, Tinubu praised the governor’s vision and hinted at establishing a “Dream Centre” to support talented underprivileged children.
Her motorcade later proceeded to unveil the foundation stone of the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Hospital, a multi-storey healthcare facility rising from the old civil service clinic in GRA.
According to Commissioner for Health Dr. Amina Ahmed el-Imam, the hospital aims to provide premium medical services to residents and beyond.
Tinubu also commissioned the Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari Flyover, named after the Emir of Ilorin. The 562-meter General Tunde Idiagbon Flyover and 457.4-meter Sulu-Gambari Flyover enhance the city’s road network, reducing travel time and improving aesthetics.

She wrapped up the day at the Sugar Factory Film Studio, another landmark project of the Abdulrazaq administration.
At the midwives’ kit distribution, the First Lady commended the governor and his wife for their hospitality, urging other states to adopt similar standards. She emphasized that the kits complement the federal government’s retraining of 120,000 frontline health workers, with 60,000 branded scrubs and crocs provided under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
Governor Abdulrazaq expressed gratitude, stating that the initiative strengthens healthcare delivery and supports midwives’ dedication to maternal and child health.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi and his wife Abieyuwa, legislators, ministers, and community leaders.
