Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will, on Saturday afternoon, take on Australia in a friendly match as part of their preparations for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, scheduled to hold later this month in Chile.

The encounter, slated for 3:00 p.m. Nigerian time, is one of two friendly matches arranged for the Eagles as they round off their build-up to the junior mundial.

The team will next play host nation Chile in the second friendly match on Tuesday, before shifting full attention to the tournament proper in Santiago.

Meanwhile, the Aliyu Zubairu-led lads had a two-hour training session on Friday evening at the Cancha training pitch in Santiago, Chile.

According to the team’s media officer, 20 players participated in the training, which was the final session before Saturday’s tune-up game against their Australian counterparts.

The Flying Eagles are drawn in Group F of the tournament, where they will face the trio of Norway, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia. The competition is scheduled to run from September 27 to October 19.
