Flying Eagles begin preparations for WAFU B U-20 Boys’ Cup

The Flying Eagles have officially opened camp in Abuja as they begin preparations for the West African Football Union (WAFU) B Under-20 Boys’ Cup.

Head coach Aliyu Zubairu has invited a squad made up largely of players who featured for Nigeria at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The tournament will serve as part of the team’s buildup to the FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled for later in 2025.

Nigeria is drawn in Group A alongside hosts Ghana and Benin Republic.

The Flying Eagles will kick off their campaign against Ghana on Thursday, July 10, before facing Benin Republic three days later in their final group game.

Group B features Burkina Faso, Togo, Ivory Coast, and Niger Republic.
