Former Commissioner of Police in Lagos and Benue States, Fatai Owoseni, has officially joined the Accord Party and obtained his governorship nomination form ahead of the 2027 Oyo State election.

Owoseni completed the process at the party secretariat in Ibadan, where he emphasized that his ambition is driven by service, integrity, and a desire to end money-driven politics in Nigeria.

The retired police chief said his entry into politics is a continuation of his public service career, stressing the need for competent and credible individuals to take active roles in governance.

He also called for issue-based politics, improved leadership standards, and sustainable development across Oyo State, adding that the welfare of citizens and strengthening of public institutions remain central to his agenda.

Owoseni urged Nigerians to reject vote-buying and transactional politics, insisting that true political strength lies in the people rather than elite endorsements.
