Former Reps deputy speaker Yusuf to join PDP next week after dumping APC

A former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuf, who resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to join the Peoples Democratic

Media Consultant To the chairman of APC in Osun State, Kola Olabisi, confirmed that Yusuff had dropped his resignation letter at the party secretariat in Osogbo.

Westernpost, however, gathered that Yusuf would officially announce his defection to the PDP next week.

Publicity Secretary of PDP in Osun State, Oladele Oluwabamiji in a telephone interview with our correspondent said he could not officially confirm the speculation of Yusuf’s defection to the PDP.

He said: “The speculation that he is joining PDP may be true, but I don’t want to join in the speculation as an official of the party. Between now and tomorrow, we should have clearer picture of his next move.”

It would be recalled that Yusuf contested the APC governorship election primary against the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyeola, on Feb. 19.

During the diirect primary, Yusuff scored 460 votes, while, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, the preferred candidate of the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, scored 12,921.
