Former Senate President Anyim meets Tinubu in Aso rock

President Bola Tinubu has received former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim to the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a meeting at the Presidential villa.

Anyim, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was accompanied to the State House by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, and Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru.

A former PDP presidential aspirant, Anyim cited his decision to join the APC as a move to support the government during what he described as “turbulent times.”

He stressed the importance of all patriots contributing to maintaining a peaceful atmosphere amidst the country’s challenges.

In his remarks, Governor Uzodimma lauded Anyim’s defection, describing him as a “big fish” that the ruling party had finally caught.

Echoing similar sentiments, Governor Francis Nwifuru emphasized that Anyim’s decision was driven by genuine reasons and not personal gain, asserting that the ex-PDP chieftain was not pursuing any selfish interest.
