Former Zamfara Deputy Governor, Wakkala shot in Abuja-Kaduna train attack

A former Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Wakkala, was among the victims at the terrorists’ attack on a Kaduna-bound train Monday evening.

Wakkala reportedly sustained injury after being shot by the attackers.

His aide Yusuf Idris told Channels TV of Wakkala’s attack.

Idris said the Department of State Services helped rescue the former deputy governor from the terrorists.

“He was initially abducted but was rescued by the DSS and military, it was during the process he sustained gunshot injury in the leg,” he said

“He is very okay now, he is receiving treatment at the hospital in Kaduna state.”
