The Ondo State Police Command on Tuesday said it had arrested four persons and recovered three firearms following a violent clash at a farm settlement in the state.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, said the incident occurred on January 28, 2026, at Akintola/Aba Tintin Camp, where farmers and local guards allegedly confronted one another with guns.
He said the police acted on credible intelligence about a breach of peace in the area and swiftly deployed operatives to prevent the situation from degenerating into a fatal confrontation.

According to the statement, the operatives restored calm and arrested four suspects identified as Samuel Bello, Oladoye David, Oladoye Kehinde, and Ifawibe Ebenezer.
Jimoh added that a search conducted during the operation led to the recovery of two double-barrel guns and one Dane gun, which have been secured as exhibits.
He said the suspects remain in custody while investigations are ongoing to determine the ownership and licensing status of the weapons, as well as any possible criminal connections.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Adebowale Lawal, assured residents of the command’s commitment to tackling illegal arms possession and violent crime.
He urged members of the public to adopt peaceful means of resolving disputes and continue to provide timely information to security agencies.
