From critic to ally: Bauchi Governor commends Tinubu’s leadership

The presidency has hailed Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for his recent commendation of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, marking a shift from his previous stance as a vocal critic.

In a post on X, Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, described the governor’s remarks as a testament to Tinubu’s effective governance, particularly in achieving sustainable food security.

“Once a bitter critic of Tinubu’s policies, he now confesses that the President is pursuing the path of national development,” Dare stated.

Governor Bala’s remarks came during the launch of a presidential food security initiative, where he publicly praised Tinubu’s leadership and vision.

“We have not hidden our love and appreciation for him,” Governor Bala said. “We are determined to offer him our cooperation and join hands with him in this noble effort. Together, we shall work; together, we shall move forward; and by the grace of God, together, we shall succeed.”

He emphasized that national development must take precedence over political differences, acknowledging the administration’s strides.

“This is not about politics. This is about national development. When it concerns the welfare of our people, we set politics aside to focus on what will benefit the lives of our citizens.”

The governor also praised the collaborative efforts between federal, state, and local governments, as well as the private sector, in tackling food security challenges.

Reacting to this, Dare said Governor Bala, once a staunch critic of President Tinubu, is now a strong supporter of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
