Frontline philanthropist, Sir Kessington, donates operational headquarters to Lagos security agency

Frontline philanthropist and businessman, Sir Adebukunola Adebutu Kessington, has made a landmark contribution to Lagos State’s security architecture by donating a permanent operational headquarters to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new multi-storey facility took place on Monday, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu officiating the event. The project marks a major milestone for LSSTF, which has been operating from rented offices since its establishment in 2007.
Located along Assfibi Road in Alausa, the new headquarters is fully funded by Sir Kessington and is expected to be completed by October 2026. The facility is designed to enhance the agency’s operational capacity and service delivery.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasised that the donation would enable LSSTF to discharge its statutory mandate with greater professionalism and efficiency. “This facility will strengthen the agency’s ability to support security operations across Lagos State,” he said.
The governor also praised Sir Kessington’s philanthropic gesture, describing it as a demonstration of patriotism and commitment to public safety. He noted that the donation would eliminate bureaucratic delays, ensuring the project’s swift execution.
LSSTF Executive Secretary, Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, described the groundbreaking as a pivotal moment in the agency’s restructuring. He added that the donation would significantly enhance the Fund’s institutional capacity and ability to coordinate effectively with other security agencies.
Dr Ogunsan further disclosed that the headquarters would be named in honour of Sir Kessington, recognising his outstanding contribution to public safety. He described the project as a symbol of leadership, trust, and purposeful philanthropy.
Sir Kessington, a nonagenarian and leading lottery entrepreneur, described the donation as “a call to duty.” He said the facility would serve as a lasting testament to shared responsibility, safety, and peace in Lagos State.
