The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Owo Unit Command in Ondo State, has distributed bottled water to motorists along the Owo corridor as part of measures to promote safe and healthy travel during the yuletide period.

The exercise was carried out under the supervision of the Unit Commander, Assistant Corps Commander J.K. Ajayi, in line with the directive of the Corps Marshal, Mallam Shehu Mohammed, to ensure a secure festive season for road users across the country.

The command explained that the initiative was aimed at encouraging alertness and reducing fatigue among motorists, while also supporting the Sustainable Development Goal on good health and well-being.

It stated that the gesture formed part of its non-enforcement strategies to improve engagement with motorists and create a more friendly and conducive travel environment on major routes within the area.

Some of the motorists who benefited from the exercise commended the corps for the initiative, describing it as a thoughtful intervention that showed concern for the welfare of road users.

One of the drivers said, “Thank you, FRSC Owo! Your kindness is a breath of fresh air. We’re grateful for your dedication to our safety and well-being.”

Another motorist said, “This gesture is a reminder that we’re not just numbers on the road, but valued members of the community. Thank you for caring!”

The Owo Unit Command reaffirmed its commitment to promoting road safety through public enlightenment and humane engagement, stressing that road safety efforts go beyond enforcement to include care for the well-being of motorists.
