FRSC trains 531 Special Marshals to boost road safety in Ondo

By Boye Oyeyemi –
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo State has trained 531 special marshals to enhance safety during the ember months.
The State Sector Commander, Dr Samuel Ibitoye, said in Akure on Monday that the training aimed to reduce road crashes, injuries, and deaths during the festive season.
The workshop, themed “Enhancing Security and Safety Strategies for Special Marshals’ Operations”, equipped participants with modern knowledge and discipline.
According to Ibitoye, special marshals remain a vital part of the corps, saying, “You can’t give what you don’t have, so this training is important for special marshals to know what to do and do it better.”
He urged marshals to intensify road safety advocacy, enforcement, and public awareness across the state.
The Special Marshals State Coordinator, Mr Oladeji Adebayo, said the training would help participants improve their operations. “Together, let us strengthen our strategies to protect lives and properties,” he said.
Declaring the workshop open, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Kayode Ajulo (SAN), represented by Barr. Ajibade Bamisile, commended the FRSC and pledged government support for its initiatives.
