Fubara bows to Supreme Court judgment, invites Rivers lawmakers to crucial meeting

The Governor of Rivers State has invited members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to a key meeting aimed at addressing critical legislative matters, including the provision of a suitable assembly space, outstanding allowances, and the presentation of the state budget.

In an official letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo, the lawmakers were informed that the meeting follows the governor’s receipt of the Supreme Court judgment, reaffirming his commitment to engaging with the legislature.

The agenda includes discussions on:

  • Securing a befitting venue for Assembly sittings,
  • Payment of all outstanding remuneration and allowances for lawmakers,
  • Presentation of the state budget, and
  • Other matters necessary for the smooth governance of the state.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Office of the Governor, Government House, Port Harcourt.

Lawmakers have been urged to attend as the state government seeks to resolve key legislative and governance issues in the interest of the people of Rivers State.
