Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has announced that tickets are now available for her upcoming December movie, amid ongoing controversy.

The filmmaker, known for her consistent December releases, shared the news on her Instagram page, noting that pre-sale tickets for The Four are now available ahead of its nationwide cinema release on December 11.

“My people, it’s time o!!! We’re not waiting till December!! Pre-sale tickets for THE FOUR… no one fights alone are NOW ON SALE! Go get your tickets at cinemas nationwide! Gather your people, let’s make it a movie date from December 11! I can’t wait to see you at the box office!” she wrote.

Akindele’s post followed a series of allegations involving fellow filmmaker Toyin Abraham, who was reportedly linked to a leaked conversation that portrayed Funke and Iyabo Ojo in a negative light. The incident sparked heavy backlash from netizens, who accused Toyin of enabling the conversation.

The Four, set between the Odu community and the city, follows four women bound by an unbreakable friendship who face their greatest test when the son of one of them is wrongfully imprisoned. They are forced to confront a powerful and corrupt system in a daring fight to prove his innocence.

The movie was directed by Funke Akindele and Tope Adebayo and features a stellar cast, including Richard Mofe-Damijo, Bsola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, singer Waje and Shoday.

The filmmaker had earlier released promotional clips, including teasers and a companion music video for the movie. She also revealed that audiences should expect a rich mix of action, humour, intense emotion, drama, music and fashion.

Fans and social media users have continued to commend Funke for using the ongoing publicity to promote her movie, with the announcement coming hours after reports of the alleged leaked conversation.
