Funke Akindele returns to Celestial Church, seeks prayer for political aspiration

Actress Funke Akindele, Deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has returned to Celestial Church to seek for prayers over her political ambition.

Earlier in the year immediately after her emergence as the running mate to Jide Adeniran, the governorship candidate of the party, Akindele attended a revival programme of the church in what many pundits described as vote seeking tactics.

She then said she decided to return to the church where she was born and dedicated after many years.

At Imeko in Ogun State which is the spiritual headquarters of Celestial Church Worldwide, Akindele was spotted over the weekend at the annual gathering of the faithful in fulfilment of her promise to full membership.

Addressing the crowd in a video posted on social media, the depity governorship candidate pleaded with the members and church elders to pray for her, adding that she is putting God first in her undertakings.

She said in the video: “Anything we do we must put God first. We have to be well mannered. We must behave like those who wear white clothes. We have to behave like a ‘Celestial’ member.

“We must not forget our source. Don’t forget your God. God be with you. All I want is prayer. Keep praying for me.”
