Ganduje invites Jibrin for meeting, confirms WesternPost’s report

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has directed that the crisis in the All Progressives Congress (APC), which forced Abdulmumin Jibrin to announce his exit from the party be resolved.

This confirms WesternPost’s report that APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had intervened in the crisis, and reached out to Ganduje for an amicable solution.

Kano State APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, in a statement, said Ganduje has ordered that the crisis be resolved.

According to him, a meeting of all the aspirants form Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency has been called, and Jibrin has signified his intention to attend.

“Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has directed the state secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to immediately take measures for the amicable resolution of the internal differences arising from interested parties seeking nomination to contest election into the Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency.

“To this end, the party secretariat has complied and summoned a stakeholders meeting to discuss the situation in the constituency.

“A statement signed by the chairman of the state chapter of the party, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas revealed  that an invitation has been sent to all the aspiring candidates for the position.

“It said Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa has already accepted the proposal and readiness to attend the meeting.

“Abbas, in the statement, called on the parties to remain calm and cooperate with the party with a view to resolving the internal crisis and further assured that the meeting would come up with a position acceptable to all the aspirants,” the statement read.

It would be recalled that Jibrin had announced his decision to leave the APC on Saturday.

While not stating the reason, Western Post gathered that it was as a result of him not been given the party’s ticket to return to the House of Representatives where he was a member from 2011 to 2019.
