By Adejayan Gbenga –
Renowned gospel singer, Evangelist Bukola Akinade, popularly known as Senwele Jesu, will celebrate her 50th birthday with a two-day event scheduled for July 14 and 19, 2025, in Ibadan.
The celebration will highlight not only her golden jubilee but also her 25-year journey of impactful ministry and contributions to gospel music. According to the event coordinator, Mr. Seyi Sokoya, the milestone deserves a celebration worthy of her dedication and service.
“Senwele Jesu is a revered name in gospel music. She has consistently used her calling to uplift lives through song and ministry. Turning 50 is a momentous achievement,” Sokoya said.
The festivities will begin on Sunday, July 14, with 50th Jubilee Praise at Christ Apostolic Church Eagle’s Wings Assembly, Wakajaye Road, Iyana Church, Ibadan. The praise night will feature performances by top gospel artistes including Tope Alabi, Bisi Alawiye, Laolu Gbenjo, Ife Odogiyon, and Dare Justified. Her husband, Pastor Joseph Akinade, will host the event.
The grand finale holds on Friday, July 19, starting with a Thanksgiving Service at the same venue by 10 a.m., followed by a reception at Jogor Event Centre, Liberty Road, Ibadan.
Bishop Funke Felix-Adejumo, a respected preacher and co-founder of Agape Christian Ministries, is expected to deliver the keynote address during the Thanksgiving service.
Sokoya added that the event is more than a birthday party—it’s a celebration of a life dedicated to faith, music, and uplifting communities within and beyond Nigeria.
