Gospel music star, Sammy Okposo is dead

The death of popular gospel musician, Sammy Okposo early Friday morning has been confirmed by multiple sources.

Media reports earlier indicated that he has been sick for some time and had been in and out of hospitals in Nigeria and United States.

The ‘wellu wellu’ crooner became a sensation early 2000 when he released his debut album as the head of choir of House on the Rock Church of Pastor Paul Adefarasin.

Sammy is reported to have died Friday morning after a heart attack according to sources close to him.

His close friend and society journalist, Azuh Arinse confirmed the news of his death to WesternPost.

Early this year, the Delta State born music star confessed to adultery and tendered public apology to his wife, Ozioma.

At the height of his stardom, Sammy was romantically linked to two Nollywood top actresses, Kate Henshaw and Stella Damasus.
