Gov AbdulRazaq appoints Folorunsho Salman acting VC of KWSUED

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has appointed Prof. Medinat Folorunsho Salman as the pioneer Acting Vice Chancellor of the newly established Kwara State University of Education (KWSUED), Ilorin.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, in Ilorin on Tuesday.
The statement detailed Prof. Salman’s impressive academic background, which includes a Bachelor of Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1985, a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Ilorin in 1990, and a PhD in Mathematics Education from the same institution in 1998.
Prof. Salman, a distinguished academic in the field of mathematics education, previously held the position of senior lecturer at the Department of Science Education and served as the Coordinator of the Educational Technology Centre at the University of Ilorin. Her extensive experience in education and leadership made her an ideal candidate for this historic appointment.
Notably, Prof. Salman is the first female professor to emerge from the Ilorin Emirate, a remarkable achievement that underscores her contributions to academia and society.
Her research interests focus on mathematics education, gender issues in mathematics and science education, as well as innovative approaches to teaching mathematics in developing countries.
