The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has extended his greetings to the Muslim and Christian communities in Kwara State on the commencement of Ramadan and Lent fasting seasons.

This was contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakeye, on Tuesday.

The governor said that the two fasting seasons beginning simultaneously signals a need for everyone to work in harmony, peace, and unity against all forms of evil and issues that could slow down the pace of Nigeria’s development.

“Fasting opens a unique window for man to get closer to the Creator through abstention from sins, intentional giving of alms, and all forms of good deeds. It helps man to redefine his essence before the Creator,” the governor said.

Gov. AbdulRazaq went further to ask God to accept the devotion of all in these holy months, while urging the two faith communities to pray and work with the government to improve the wellbeing of Kwara residents.
