Gov AbdulRazaq inspects multistorey hospital, showcases road projects

By Mosunmola Ayobami, Ilorin –

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Sunday inspected ongoing construction at the multistorey Oluremi Tinubu Hospital in Ilorin, days after approving an additional N20 billion for public school infrastructure across Kwara State.

The governor described the hospital as one of his administration’s major investments in public health, education, road networks, and social welfare across diverse communities.

Last Tuesday, AbdulRazaq also inspected rural road projects in Asa Local Government, including the 23.23km Oko Olowo Express-Sokoto-Tafatafa-Elere-Owode Oja Baba Kudu-Akopari-Otte Oja road and the 17.7km Madi Peeke road.

He said his administration has completed several road projects within Ilorin and across the state, with many more still ongoing.

The governor noted that other states are also recording significant infrastructural progress, citing hospital projects in Lagos, Kaduna, and other states as examples.

He attributed the surge in projects nationwide in sectors such as roads, schools, and healthcare to the increase in revenue allocations following the removal of fuel subsidy.

The governor also commended President Bola Tinubu for supporting the state’s development drive.

“The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was here six months ago to lay the foundation of this world-class hospital, and work has progressed tremendously. Hopefully, by the second quarter of next year, we’ll complete it. Most of the equipment, including radiography machines, CT scanners, MRI, and PET scan machines, have already been ordered,” he said.
