Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has led a delegation to Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, to commiserate with Governor Umar Namadi over the loss of his mother and son, who passed away within 24 hours of each other.
Accompanying Governor Abdulrazaq on the condolence visit was Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Earlier, the NGF had expressed its deep sorrow over the passing of Hajiya Maryam Namadi-Umar, mother of Governor Namadi, who died in the early hours of Wednesday.
The Forum also mourned the tragic death of the Governor’s 24-year-old son, Abdulwahab, who passed away in an auto crash.
In a statement signed by Governor Abdulrazaq on Friday, the NGF extended heartfelt condolences to Governor Namadi, his family, and the people of Jigawa State, describing the incidents as a profound loss.
“We urge His Excellency and the people of Jigawa State to find solace in the remarkable legacies of Hajiya Maryam, who was a devout servant of God and a lover of humanity,” the statement read.
The Forum prayed for the deceased, saying, “We ask Allaah to ease the account of Mama, widen and illuminate her grave, admit her to Al-Jannah Firdaus, and uphold the family in goodness.”
The NGF reiterated its grief over the death of Abdulwahab, describing the young man’s demise as a significant tragedy.
