Gov. AbdulRazaq mourns former Governor Adebayo

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Governor Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo, who passed away at the age of 84.
The governor’s condolence message was contained in a personally signed statement released on Wednesday and made available to newsmen in Ilorin.
“I received with sadness but in submission to the will of God the report of the death of His Excellency, former Governor Cornelius Adebayo. He was 84,” the statement read.
Governor AbdulRazaq described the late C.O. Adebayo as an all-time patriot, statesman, and progressive who represented great ideals and championed noble causes throughout his lifetime.
He noted that Adebayo’s contributions at various levels of leadership earned him widespread admiration and respect, adding that the former governor left behind a legacy of courage and service as a democrat who stood firm during critical moments in Nigeria’s history.
On behalf of the government and people of Kwara State, the governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the late elder statesman.
AbdulRazaq prayed that the Almighty grants the deceased eternal rest and comforts his family during this period of grief.
He described the passing of Adebayo as a huge loss not only to Kwara but to the entire nation, given his remarkable contributions to public service and democracy.
