Gov. Adeleke expresses shock over Osun Varsity Staff crushed to death by container

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has expressed sorrow and sadness over the tragic death of a female staff of the University of Ilesa.
A staff of University of Ilesa, Mrs Fanimokun Ogunmokun who is retiring from service in April was said to have been killed on Wednesday when a fully loaded cashew nut truck container fell on her car.
Ogunmokun was said to be returning from work along campus road in Ilesa, in her wine color Toyota Corrola with registration number Lagos LSD 584GD when the incident happened.
According to a resident, “The woman could not manoeuvre her way because she was facing another trailer while the truck which had the container full of cashew nuts was beside her. The container fell on her car. She was trapped under the container for above one hour.”
Adeleke, while reacting to the unfortunate incident, in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, charged all relevant government agencies to follow up on the root cause of the accident and ensure that those responsible are brought to book.
The Governor directed the relevant authorities to find out the owner of the said truck, the circumstances of the accident and the question of search and rescue after the accident.
He further directed the Commissioner for Transportation to act on the matter including an immediate visitation to the scene of the accident, the University of Ilesa, the family of the deceased as well as new regulations on the usage of the narrow roads by heavy duty trucks.
While commiserating with the management of the university of Ilesa and the family of the deceased, Adeleke assured that those culpable will be brought to justice.
