Gov Aiyedatiwa confident in Tinubu’s reforms, calls for continued support

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies and reforms will yield positive results for Nigerians.
He made the remarks during the South-West Assembly of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held on Saturday at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, where party leaders from the region gathered to discuss national and regional issues.
Governor Aiyedatiwa urged party leaders from Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos States to rally support for President Tinubu’s administration. He emphasized the importance of mobilizing backing for the President’s policies, particularly those aimed at reviving the nation’s economy through the Renewed Hope agenda.
The Governor highlighted agriculture as a critical area of focus, noting that food security remains a major challenge for the country.
“As we continue developing ourselves and our states, we must keep the entire southwest in mind and support President Tinubu to succeed at the national level,” Aiyedatiwa stated.
President Tinubu, represented by his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, reiterated the importance of unity in driving national development.
He reassured Nigerians that his administration is committed to securing a prosperous future for all, stressing that his focus is not on the next election but on the long-term welfare of the nation.
“Brighter days are ahead, and soon everyone will share in the nation’s collective progress,” Gbajabiamila quoted the President as saying.
The event’s coordinator, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, called on APC members to collaborate beyond politics and work together for the good of the country. He emphasized that unity within the South-West is essential for Nigeria’s progress, stating, “The South-West is the heartbeat of Nigeria.”
Hon. Isaac Kekemeke, the National Vice Chairman of the APC (South-West), noted that the assembly aimed to assess party members’ welfare and formulate strategies to strengthen the party in the region.
He urged members to begin early preparations for the 2027 presidential election and the upcoming Ondo State gubernatorial election on November 16.
Other speakers at the assembly included Sen. Ajibola Bashiru, National Secretary of the APC, who emphasized the need for continuous dialogue and collaboration within the party to foster nation-building.
Former Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi for his part, called on party leaders to engage more with grassroots supporters and maximize the South-West Governors’ Forum to enhance governance.
The assembly served as a platform for the APC leadership in the South-West to unite, exchange ideas, and reinforce their commitment to both regional and national development.
