Gov Eno lauds PDP’s support, pledges grassroots development in Akwa Ibom

Akwa Ibom State Governor and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Pastor Umo Eno, has expressed deep gratitude to the party for its unwavering support, which he credited for the success of his administration over the past 20 months.

Speaking during a New Year visit to the PDP State Secretariat in Atan Offot, Uyo, Governor Eno emphasized the party’s pivotal role in government, acknowledging it as the foundation of his leadership. He described the visit as part of a longstanding tradition where leaders elected under the PDP platform reaffirm their ties to the party.

The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to grassroots development, vowing to sustain initiatives aimed at improving rural communities as a gesture of appreciation for the party’s backing and the electorate’s massive support.

He noted that the ARISE Agenda, his administration’s blueprint for development, continues to drive progress in rural areas.

Governor Eno also announced plans to embark on town hall meetings across the state’s federal constituencies. The meetings, he explained, will provide a platform for stakeholders to collaboratively identify developmental priorities. In addition, empowerment programs tailored to local government areas will accompany the tour, targeting farmers, traders, and entrepreneurs to boost local economies.

The Governor encouraged party members serving in various governmental roles to foster strong relationships with their constituents to enhance their political relevance and strengthen the party’s influence statewide.

He assured party members of his administration’s dedication to delivering good governance that aligns with PDP values and principles.

In his remarks, the State PDP Chairman, Elder Aniekan Akpan, expressed appreciation for the Governor’s visit and unwavering support for the party.

He announced the party’s resolution to endorse Pastor Umo Eno as the sole candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state.

Representing the PDP National Leadership, the National Woman Leader, Hajiya Amina Darosimi, praised Governor Eno’s developmental strides and reaffirmed the party’s pride in his leadership.

She declared that the PDP remains committed to opposing any attempt to turn Nigeria into a one-party state and will continue to provide robust opposition while supporting Governor Eno’s efforts to make Akwa Ibom a model of governance.
