Gov Oborevwori lauds FG for disbursing N1.2bn grant to Deltans
The governor of Delta state, Sheriff Oborevwori has praised President Bola Tinubu’s government for disbursing over 1.2 billion naira to beneficiaries under the Federal government grant and loan scheme across the state.
Oborevwori who gave the commendation at a One-Day Townhall Sensitisation on the Federal Government grant and loan Scheme held in Asaba the state Capital said the sustenance of the scheme would greatly transform the economy of the state and the country at large.
The governor represented at the event by the state Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Service and Girl Child Development, Orode Uduaghan said Delta under his administration, just like the Federal government, prioritises human capital and economic empowerment of citizens.
With a call for aggressive sensitization at the grassroots, the governor charged Nigerians to use the single digit interest loan platform to grow their businesses and urged the beneficiaries to make effective utilization of the fund to build their businesses and the nations economy.
In their seperate speeches, the state focal person for the scheme, Isioma Okonta and Moses Nega of the Bank of Industry in Delta state confirmed the effectiveness of Federal government grant and loan schemes in the state.
The beneficiaries appealed for more support from government to enable them further grow their businesses.
