Gov Okpebholo launches agricultural initiative to boost food production in Edo

Governor Okpebholo has officially launched the “Back-to-Farm” initiative, a strategic agricultural revolution aimed at boosting food production across Edo State’s three senatorial districts.

Under the program, the state government will provide farmers with essential incentives, including fertilizers, farm machinery for mechanized farming, and loans to enhance agricultural activities. The initiative seeks to revive farming in the state and increase food supply for Nigerians.

During the launch, Governor Okpebholo emphasized the importance of agriculture in ensuring food security.

“It is time for all of us to go back to the farm. Farming has become a very serious business, and together we will produce the food and feed our people,” he stated.

The governor assured residents that the initiative would be action-oriented and not just a policy on paper.

He added that the administration is committed to ensuring the benefits of the program are felt through abundant food production and improved livelihoods for Edo farmers.
