Gov Oyebanji approves work-from-home policy for Ekiti civil servants
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has approved a work-from-home arrangement for civil servants in the state, aimed at alleviating the impact of the current economic situation on workers.
According to a statement by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, the new arrangement allows officers on Grade Levels 01-07 to work from home three days a week. Officers on Grade Levels 08-12 are permitted to work from home two days a week, while those on Grade Levels 13-17 will work from home one day a week.
This policy, which will take effect on Monday, September 9, 2024, excludes essential workers such as teachers, core health workers in hospitals, and security personnel, among others.
The Governor has directed each Ministry, Department, and Agency (MDA) to develop a workable schedule to ensure that the new work-from-home arrangement does not compromise effective service delivery.
The policy will be in place for an initial period of two months and is subject to periodic review based on prevailing circumstances.
It is noteworthy also that this arrangement will not affect other palliative measures implemented by the state government, including the monthly wage award for workers and pensioners, as well as the free bus service for workers and students.
“The Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji administration remains committed to the welfare of its workers and will continue to implement measures to enhance their productivity,” the statement added.
